New Horizon Counseling Center hosts luncheon

The Club celebrates Thanksgiving

The Club, a social day program for seniors over 60 with cognitive (Alzheimer’s and other dementias) and physical frailties, served Thanksgiving lunch with the help of the Lions Club of Valley Stream to roughly 70 people, including members, families and caregivers at the St. Joseph School in Hewlett on Nov.

New Horizon Counseling Center | Storefront counseling center to open in Howard Beach

The center, located at 156-28 Cross Bay Blvd., is set to have its grand opening on Oct. 1, according to Herrick Lipton, the administrative and financial director for the center. A staple in southern Queens for over 20 years, the Howard Beach center will be its third location in the area, with the other two in Far Rockaway and Ozone Park.

Peninsula Counseling Center changes hands

Peninsula Counseling Center in Valley Stream was acquired by New Horizon Counseling Center, a mental health service provider with established locations in Brooklyn and Queens. The change is management became official on Monday. “Our goal is to create a sustainable solution for mental health services for Nassau County,” said Herrick Lipton, administrative and financial director for NHCC.
